Guy Julier

Guy JulierGuy Julier is Professor of Design and Head of Research and Research Awards Coordinator in the School of Architecture, Landscape and Design. He has worked as an exhibition consultant at the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Design Museum in London, and a freelance design consultant and writer. His PhD investigated the relationships between design and political and economic change in Spain and Hungary since 1980.

Guy Julier is Associate Editor of the Journal of Design and Culture, sits on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Visual Culture and is London correspondent for Experimenta (Madrid). He is currently External Examiner for the MA (RCA) History of Design course at the Royal College of Art. Previously he was examiner for BA (Hons) Industrial Design, Fundación San Valero: Centro de Estudios Superiores, Zaragoza, Spain, and for the B.A. (Hons) Interior Design, BA (Hons) Product/Furniture Design, BA (Hons) Fashion at Kingston University, UK. He teaches on the BA (Hons) Design, and MA Urban Design courses and supervises several doctoral students.

Prior to LeedsMet, Guy Julier taught at Somerset College of Arts & Technology, Harlow College, Trowbridge Technical College, Wimbledon School of Art, Bristol Polytechnic and Camberwell College of Arts. He is also an Honorary Professor at Glasgow School of Art.
