| The School of the Built Environment is part of the Faculty of Arts & Society. It is a major provider of vocational and professional education opportunities and has achieved national and international recognition for research and consultancy. A range of taught courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, opportunities for study towards research awards and a varied programme of Continuing Personal Development are available.
A particular feature of the School is the breadth and vocational relevance of the portfolio, together with an emphasis on innovation in teaching and learning and the development of student capability. The School provides a stimulating environment for education in all aspects of the Built Environment. A commitment to widening access and increasing participation in higher education is the underlying philosophy of collaborative provision, regionally, nationally and internationally.
The School has extensive links with professional and industrial organisations and is committed to developing services and activities which are responsive to current and future needs. This extends to international activities in the School which have been focused on widening access, developing capability, and fostering collaboration and exchange. Internally the School is organised into four Professional Groups and three Research Centres. |
