Faculty of Arts & Society

School of the Built Environment

Services to Business

The School welcomes and encourages links with business, which will enhance the employability of our students, the relevance of our teaching and the applicability of our research.

We work with business in many ways in training employees in our full-time and part-time courses, in the provision of placement and sandwich learning opportunities for students and in applied research and consultancy. We have student prizes sponsored by leading national and regional companies in our areas of professional work.

Construction Knowledge Exchange (CKE) at Leeds Met is set up to transfer knowledge from the School of the Built Environment into, and for the support of, the local and regional construction industry and to transfer knowledge back into the School to enhance teaching and learning.

Knowledge Transfer Partnerships enable Higher Education Institutions to apply their wealth of knowledge and expertise to important business problems. Knowledge Transfer Partnerships are Government funded and enable UK businesses to benefit from the wide range of expertise available in the UK's 'Knowledge Base' - higher education institutions, further education colleges, and private and public sector research organisations and institutes.

We would welcome further contacts in any of these areas of mutual benefit.
