Welcome to the School of Film, Television & Performing Arts

The School of Film, Television & Performing Arts is located within the Faculty of Arts & Society. This School has a strong ethos based on practice-based teaching and learning informed by practitioner research.  Courses within the School range from film and moving image production to contemporary performing arts and playwork.

The UK's Northern Film School brings an established and dedicated team of staff with wide ranging experience in all aspects of filmmaking to support students. The Skillset-accredited MA in Screenwriting has a proven track record in supporting writing for all modes of production.

Performing Arts at Leeds Met (PALM) provision is an exciting new area for the University, the work in the School builds on the national reputation of the Leeds Met Studio Theatre in supporting innovative contemporary performance works.

The Playwork team bring expertise in work with children across therapeutic, creative and developmental settings. This offers a unique dynamic to the courses in the School where the potential for collaboration across the fields of play, film making and performance expression meet.
