Case study: Guitar Raps

David Allard, a first year Multimedia Technology student from Leeds Metropolitan University recently set up his own business, Guitar Raps.

Guitar Raps are inexpensive, high quality vinyl transfers that can be easily applied to customise many leading guitars. They are not just stickers. They are specially made, professional kits intended for serious guitarists who want a new look for their guitar. They look even better than a professional paint finish, and are fully removable.

Revealing his inspiration behind his idea, David said;

“I simply bought a guitar and didn't like the look of it, so I customised it myself”

David was awarded the proof of concept grant which provided him with £1000 to help test the feasibility of Guitar Raps. The grant allowed David to protect his designs and buy relevant design software.

Since receiving the grant David has designed over 60 raps and produces custom made designs on request.
