Mathew Hillyer
BSc (Hons) Sport & Exercise Science
Mathew Hillyer, a 22-year-old from Milton Keynes, chose Leeds Met
on the recommendation of his former school teacher, who is a
Carnegie alumnus. He studied BSc (Hons) Sport & Exercise
Science at Headingley Campus where he found the atmosphere very
relaxed and peaceful which helped keep him calm during times
of stress such as exam periods. If he could have his time at
Leeds Met over again he would take a more active part in some
of the extracurricular activities offered by Carnegie, such as
the first aid course.
Mathew would like to become a youth development officer, preferably in a football club which will allow him to scout for new talent. Before that he plans to travel to America and pick up some coaching experience there.
Mathew thought that the graduation event was very professionally organised and he considered it a personal honour to have the opportunity to meet Dame Kelly Holmes and Chancellor Brendan Foster.
