The Fayre will take place between 10.30 am and 3.30 pm on Thursday 9 September in the Rose Bowl exhibition area. A range of current providers will demonstrate their products and services and discuss their offers. This is a unique opportunity to see at first-hand the type of offers open to you. International Volunteering Project
International Volunteering Project

Nuala Curran has just returned from a volunteering trip to Thailand to teach English to children affected by the 2004 tsunami. 29 Leeds Metropolitan volunteers helped to run 8 English Camps for around 1800 children. Our volunteers have made a significant difference to children who would otherwise not get help from a native English speaker.  Nuala is thrilled to have had the opportunity to travel to such an amazing country and to have met so many enthusiastic and inspirational young people. Wellbeing Shortlisted for Business Award
Wellbeing Shortlisted for Business Award

Our wellbeing initiative has been shortlisted as a finalist in this year's National Business Awards. Fellow contenders for the award, in the category of Health, Work and Wellbeing, include Marks & Spencer, The Metropolitan Police Service and GE Capital. Formal presentations will take place in September and October, with the winner being announced on 9 November. Click here for further details.

HR Staff Graduations

Warm congratulations go to those colleagues who have just graduated from Leeds Metropolitan courses. PG Dip Human Resource Management: Jenny Beckles, Jen Brooke, Claudia Foster, Laura Green, Claire Jacobsen, Michelle Mahoney, Caroline Moore and Paul Tyrer. BSc (Hons) Safety, Health & Environmental Management: Linda Kitson and Laurie Wilson (now based in Estates). PG Dip Occupational Health: Helen Drake. Particular recognition goes to Caroline Moore, who received the CIPD West Yorkshire Branch Prize for outstanding performance, and Linda Kitson, who was awarded the Zurich Shield for best student, Occupational Health & Safety. Well done on your achievement!
