EATA (European Association for Telematic Applications) is a non-profit organization whose main objectives are to promote Telematic Applications in the European Union.

The Association seeks to foster good practice in education on Telematic Applications, to improve the understanding of this technological research subject through the European Union and to determine corresponding criteria in order to establish common standards on Telematic Applications.

Moreover, EATA promotes Telematic Applications for the improvement of lifestyles and working environment and practices. The Association seeks to encourage collaboration between academic institutions, public and private sector organisations through a programme of research, education, training and information exchanges.

It establishes mechanism for industrial participation and contributes to the initiatives of the European Commission relating to education and research in Universities and other institutions of Higher Education in similar subjects. As a result, EATA encourages the exchange of staff and students between collaborating establishments.

Finally, EATA organizes annually the international NETIES (NETworking entitIES) Conferences
