Immigration and visa information for Yemen students

As a citizen of Yemen you are considered by UK immigration to be a visa national.
All visa nationals require a visa/entry clearance to study in the UK, even if you are coming to the UK for 6 months or less. If you do not have the correct entry clearance or visa then you will not be allowed to enter the UK and may be asked to return home. It is important you enter the UK on a student/prospective student visa as the immigration rules do not allow visa nationals to change visa status to that of student whilst in the UK.
As a visa national you must:
- Obtain your visa/entry clearance before leaving home
- Have a visa, even if you will be coming for 6 months or less.
- YOU MUST NOT enter the UK on a visa as visitor or researcher. You must ONLY ENTER on a visa for a student or prospective student. Immigration rules do not allow visa nationals who enter as visitors, researchers, employees, or dependants to change visa status to that of student whilst in Britain. You must return to your home country for fresh Entry Clearance as a student.
You must apply for a visa at the British Embassy, High Commission, or Consul. You must do this at least one month, but not more than three months, before travelling to Britain.
The British Embassy is located in Sana’a. The British Consulate is located in Hodeidah. |
