Our Scholarship Winners:
Md. Shayeekh-Us-SaleheenCourse: MA English Language Teaching & Materials Development Why did you choose Leeds/Leeds Met? I think the British education system is among the best in the world. Gaining a degree from a UK university guarantees a successful future. I was attracted to Leeds Met because of how innovative the courses are in content and approach allowing for self-studying and individual research. The staff are incredibly experienced in their fields and bring so much knowledge to the classroom. Why did you apply for the scholarship? My parents, my wife and my tutors thought my achievements in my academic career could merit winning a scholarship. I submitted an essay of 1500 words. The essay involved much research and perseverance but it paid off. The award is the result of not just my own hard work, but also my family’s encouragement. When I found out that I’d won a scholarship to Leeds Met my joy knew no boundaries! It was so wonderful to have my achievements recognised. The scholarship means a lot to my family too. They knew I had a lot of competition in order to win and they are just so proud of me. What do you think of Leeds/Leeds Met? Leeds Met is a fantastic place to grow academically and professionally. It is also an incredibly friendly place where the balance of social and academic activities is just right. There is very much a ‘family’ feel here in that people really look out for one another. It is as though we are all one big family. The staff are wonderfully friendly at Leeds Met and only add value to my already exceptional experience. |
