Students from the EU/EEA

Students

Unsure if you're classified as an EU/EEA national or overseas student?

You are normally classified as an overseas student if you, or your parents, are not British citizens or nationals of another European Union country and/or have not been ordinarily resident in the UK for a period of three years immediately preceding 1 September of the year your university course starts (1 January for courses which start in January or February). There are a few exceptions to this rule; please check with the Admissions Office. You will also be classified as an overseas student if your residence in the European Union, (however long), has been wholly or partly for the purpose of full-time education.
