A limited number of scholarships are available for overseas students starting a full-time taught course at Leeds Metropolitan University in the academic year 2009/10. Awards are in the form of a reduction in the tuition fee for one year of a course only. It is the student's responsibility to fund the remainder of their studies, where appropriate. All applicants must be financially able to fund the duration of their course, should their scholarship application be unsuccessful.

Unless otherwise stated, the following regulations apply:

•  Scholarships are not transferable and must be taken up in the session for which they are allocated.

•  These scholarships are only available to students whose fee status is "overseas".

•  Applicants must be privately funded (i.e. 100% of tuition fees will be paid from their own or their family's resources), and not holding another award covering the payment of tuition fees.

•  Applicants must have accepted an Unconditional Offer of a place on a full-time taught course at the University starting in the academic year 2009/10.

•  The chosen course must be of at least one year's duration and must lead to an academic award of Leeds Metropolitan University or an Edexcel Higher National Diploma.

•  Applicants must not have previously been enrolled on the course concerned, or previously enrolled on a HND course at the University in the same subject area.

•  Candidates must not have previously received a scholarship from the University.
