Electronic Journals

  • Full Text Journals Available Now
  • Additions to be Made to the Database by Summer 1996

  • The Library has signed an agreement to make electronically available the full text of over 150 journals (and abstracts from a further 400) published by EBSCO. This very large database covers all subject areas and provides instant access to the complete text of tens of thousands of journal articles. For the first time you will not only be able to locate references to but also immediately read material that is not kept physically in the Library.

Access to the database will be via the Internet using the World-Wide Web, providing an easy point-and-click windows interface. Workstations dedicated to Internet use are already in the libraries for students and staff to use, and an increasing number of staff PCs will also have Internet connections allowing direct searching from offices.

This is our first venture into the rapidly-expanding electronic journals field and marks a major step forward in the Library’s strategy of concentrating on access to learning materials. If you would like to find out more about this new service please contact your Tutor Librarian.

A small selection of the journal titles covered is reproduced below
