The ChinaVentures Programme will

• Introduce Yorkshire & Humberside companies to opportunities available in Eastern China, (especially Zhejiang Province and the City of Hangzhou);
• Work with a selected group of Yorkshire & Humberside SMEs to help them prepare their products, services, systems and staff for entry into the Chinese market;
• Offer workshops aimed at familiarising executives of Yorkshire & Humberside companies with aspects of Chinese culture and general aspects of conducting business in China;
• Offer workshops on basic Chinese business language in preparation of the first visit;
• Take executives from selected Yorkshire & Humberside companies to Shanghai and Hangzhou to meet potential Chinese business partners Three visits planned - 3-13 June 2000, November 2000 and February 2001;
• Establish new ventures as licensees or JV partners of Yorkshire & Humberside firms in Eastern China.
