Press Release (11/09/01) - CALLING COMPANIES TO CHINA

Yorkshire companies are being urged to join the Silk Road to China as the region's innovative companies open up new links with one of the world's biggest and fast-growing economies. Building upon previous successful trade missions, ChinaVentures an arm of UniVentures, will create further trade links by offering Yorkshire businesses the opportunity to visit Nanjing, Hangzhou and Shanghai next month.

The ten-day visit taking place between 27th October and 7th November, offers full business support for both first-time contact with China and return visitors and provides a full range of services to help Yorkshire companies develop commercial links in Asia.

Joanna Lavan, ChinaVentures Project Manager said local companies should register their interest without delay: "ChinaVentures has liaised with companies working in various sectors keen to develop commercial relations in this exciting area of the world economy.

"The initiative has enabled many Yorkshire companies, which would otherwise not have had the resource or opportunity to make contact with this fast-growing and exciting part of the world business community. Given the success of the initiative to date and the new business won by several Yorkshire companies we hope many more Yorkshire companies will benefit from ChinaVentures."
