Browser Settings, Plug-ins and Add on’s

WebCT can be viewed through any standard browser.

E.g. Netscape 4.0 or higher or Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher. Running under Windows 95, 98, NT or 2000 Macintosh OS8 or OS9. Your browser will need some settings enabling.

Netscape Navigator 4 and Netscape Communicator 4.x

  • From the Edit menu, click Preferences.
  • Under the Category heading, click Advanced.
  • Ensure that Enable Java, and Enable JavaScript are selected.
  • Expand the Advanced folder, by clicking +, and then click Cache.
  • Under Document in cache is compared to document on network, select Every time.
  • Click OK.

Internet Explorer 4+, 5+

  • From the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
  • Click the General tab.
  • Under Temporary Internet Files, click Settings.
  • Under Check for newer versions of stored pages, select ‘Every visit to the page’, and then click OK.
  • Click the Advanced Tab.
  • Under Microsoft VM, ensure that Java console enabled and Java logging enabled are selected.
  • Click OK.

If you selected Java console enabled, restart your computer.
