Assessment, Learning & Teaching Reflections |
Thursday 2 February, 2006
Last week I commenced a six month 0.5 secondment alongside Professor Sally Brown, working with university Teaching Fellows, the Staff Development team, library and technical support staff to develop an assessment, learning and teaching resource (ALT re-source) for Leeds Met staff. This will encompass staff events, lunchtime seminars and networks, visiting scholars, collections of materials and a dedicated area of the university website.
From March this site will detail ALT-related internal and external events and training, and provide links to external sites, publications and resources that relate to and support the Leeds Met ALT strategy. The website will also promote Leeds Met ALT research and funding will be available to support staff engaging in small ALT projects and to develop and disseminate ALT ideas via the website. We’re looking to develop three reference collections to complement the website – one each at Civic Quarter, Headingley and Harrogate. Each collection will comprise books, journals, conference proceedings and practical guides, carefully selected by Teaching Fellows and others for their practical advice, currency and support of our ALT strategy. Library staff Wendy Luker and Jo Norrie are working with us to establish these collections which will be based in dedicated staff open-access resource rooms.
