Assessment, Learning & Teaching Reflections

Monday 16 January

We need to find out what students think of their learning experiences so we can improve them continuously. Leeds Met’s Annual Student Survey (ASS) will be conducted from January-March and enables all our HE students to tell us about their perceptions of the university. This year the ASS will be delivered wholly on-line, so please heartily encourage yourstudents to complete this survey, which can be accessed via the student portal.

HEFCE will also be conducting its own survey of students, which again will be between January and March, which is only for final-year undergraduate students. Its results are made public and are extremely important, so again please strongly encourage your final-year students to complete the National Student Survey (NSS) as well as the ASS. Final-year students will be contacted directly by the external company delivering the NSS, but we need to ensure a good response rate and it is important for those final-year students contacted to contribute to a positive reputation for Leeds Met as measured by this source. As in previous years, the university and the Students’ Union are working together to promote both surveys and the opportunities they provide for students to offer perspectives and shape the future.
