Research launched into the impact of European funding cuts on the voluntary and community sector
14/11/05
A report by Professor John Shutt and Felix Kumi-Ampofo, both from the Faculty of Business and Law at Leeds Metropolitan University, has been used to show how vital services in Yorkshire and the Humber could be lost because of funding cuts.
The research, which was launched at Leeds Town Hall on Friday 11 November, warns that 2,300 voluntary and community sector jobs are at risk as European funding dwindles and Single Regeneration Budget (SRG) comes to an end.
The report looks at projected funding trends for 2006-10 and
their impact on the Yorkshire and the Humber and shows that the
sector could face significant problems by 2008/9.
