Students showcase talent at the Leeds International Film Festival

Students from Leeds Metropolitan University’s School of Film, Television and Performing Arts undergraduate and postgraduate courses will showcase their films, as a part of UK Film Week at the Leeds International Film Festival. The school’s annual showcase will be hosted by Vue cinema at The Light in the city centre, on Monday 7 November and Tuesday 8 November.
The showcase will be split into two parts, Part 1 on Monday 7 November, screening past films from students and Part 2 on Tuesday 8 November, screening recent films from students. Both screenings are at 2pm and are free.
Work will be featured from all of the school’s film, television and moving image courses, including documentaries, drama, music videos and commercials. An after event party, ‘The Merge’, will be taking place in Revolution, in the Electric Press building, from 4pm onwards, featuring more Leeds Met student films.
The festival will also feature ‘Dreams Ashes’, a film made by recent graduate Rafe Clayton, as part of the MA Film and Moving Image Production Course, and will be shown on Friday 4 November at Leeds City Art Gallery.
Additionally as a part of the Leeds International Film Festival, running from 3 -13 November, Leeds Metropolitan University’s School of Film, Television and Performing Arts will be hosting viewings at its screening room at the Electric Press Building.

The Electric Press Building houses Leeds Met’s School
of Film, Television & Performing Arts. The newly refurbished
building in Millennium Square includes well equipped studio spaces,
editing rooms, and production offices, as well as high quality
teaching rooms for large and small work groups.
