Staff from the Carnegie Faculty of Sport and Education were defeated 4 – 2 by Leeds Rugby, in a football match on Friday 18 November. The hard fought match was played at Leeds Met’s Headingley Campus, where the Leeds Rugby team proved too strong for the Carnegie team.
The winning team included Pat Moran, Physiotherapist for Leeds Rhinos, who dominated the midfield, whilst Gary Hetherington, Chief Executive of Leeds Rhinos played in goal and made two fine saves. Rob Oates, Sales Manger for Leeds Rugby moved up front from defence in the second half, causing problems for Leeds Met. Francis Cummings ex Leeds Rhinos player and now a coach, displayed his skills on the pitch, proving not only is he a fine rugby league player, but a good footballer too.

Campus where they were joined by Malcolm Brown, head of University
Sport and Ian Smyth,

Development
manager
at the university.
